State-Level Benefits

Stamp Duty Concessions

Several Indian states offer reduced stamp duty rates for women property buyers, making it more affordable to register property.

How It Works

Stamp duty is a state-level tax paid during property registration. Many states charge women 1-2% less than the standard rate, leading to savings of ₹50,000 to ₹2 lakhs on a typical property purchase.

State-wise Concessions

Delhi: 4% (vs 6% for men) | Haryana: 3% (vs 5%) | Rajasthan: 4.75% (vs 5%) | Punjab: 4% (vs 6%) | Jharkhand: 3% (vs 4%). Karnataka currently charges 5% for all buyers above ₹45L.

Registration Charges

In Karnataka, registration charges are 1% of the property value (capped at ₹30,000 for properties under ₹45L). Joint registration with a woman co-owner is recommended for future policy benefits.
